PASADENA, Calif. - THe Hope International Golf programs competed in their first tournament of the spring at the Sea Beggars Invitational held at Brookside Golf Club. The women finished in third place as a team, behind Vanguard and OUAZ. The men finished as a team sixth overall out of nine teams. 

The women shot 374 as a team in round one to start day two in third place, the Royals improved and posted a team score of 372 in round two and finished third overall. Individually, Aide Martinez and Ashley Fernandez both shot 175 to tie for fourth place. Martinez shot 85 on day one and 90 on day two, while Fernandez shot 87 on day one and 88 on day two. 

After the first round, the men were tied for fourth overall with a round one score of 326, Gabriel Sosa shot 73 in the first round to lead the Royals. After the second round, the Royals dropped to sixth place overall and Gabriel Sosa finished 17th overall with the highest score for the Royals, 160. Carter Anderson finished tied for 21st overall with a score of 162. 

Men's and women's golf will compete in the William Jessup Spring Invite on March 1st and 2nd.
